3 reasons why a Malaysian Chinese MUST watch Flower in the Pocket

lbs 星期五, 21 十二月 2007 11:42:56 (96 Reads)
Hi Friends, I just watched a film called Flower in the Pocket... a really hilarious and touching film which I think is 10 times better than Jack Neo's films. And best of all, it's a buatan Malaysia. Do you know a puppy is "censored" out from a scene from Flower in the Pocket just because there is azan in the background? Do you know the word "Malaysia" is also "censored" out when the kid asks his brother to tear out a paper from his Bahasa ******* text book to wipe his ass? Do you know by the government standard a Malaysian-made movie is NOT a Malaysian movie if it doesn't have more than 70% Malay dialogue? Yes. If you are a Malaysian Chinese, who likes really genuinely funny stuff, please go and watch the film by Liew Seng Tat. You won't regret it. (Without a Compulsory Screening Directivefrom FINAS, the cinema will not show the the film for long. With one, a"Government-approved Malaysian films" could force the cinema chains toshow their films for 14 days, whether or .............. ( Read More )

Jack Sparrow was bewildered. "Who the hell are you? What do you care where I'm moving to?"

"Malaysian people love you, Abang Jack. They've sent me to invite you to stay in Malaysia. Best place to live in the world!" Loud Mouth explained enthusiastically. He couldn't help but think how many vot .............. ( 全文 )

Rethinking Malaysia: Claim your free ticket now!

Dear fellow Malasians,

Jeff Ooi has been blog-criticizing the government for the past 3 years, and had also won the Reporters Without Borders Blog Award for Asia. Not long ago, Jeff Ooi, along with Ahiruddin Atan a.k.a Rocky, got sued by News Straits Time of Malaysia for defamation.

Yasmin Ahmad, creator of the Malaysian movies "Sepet" and "Gubra", was critized on a nationally televised forum.
